Shadowplay, the collage

I especially enjoyed the connections of lines and patterns in the development of this collage. "Shadowplay" is another from the color constructs series in the Edge Gallery show, continuing through November 29th. The collage is 20 x 10 x 1", composed of contemporary papers on a wood support. (Click photo for more detail.) My collages grow piece by piece, layer by layer. As the piece develops, I continue to cut, crop, rip, arrange, and layer elements, making decisions about what works and what is needed next to complete the composition. 

Blast, rather off the wall...

"Blast," is another collage from my ongoing EDGE Gallery show, 20 x 10 x 1", composed of contemporary papers on wood support. The first photo shows how imagery/color is wrapped around the edges of the wood supports so they can hang unframed. Click on images for more detail.

So many responses to four words

"A Book About Death" has been chronicled in a video showing glimpses of each piece and the show installation at the  Emily Harvey Foundation Gallery in New York City in September. Approximately 500 artists sent in 500 post card works to be distributed in the gallery space as pages for the book. Pretty amazing to watch so many pieces and consider the imagery that recurs. My collage shows up at about 5:25, or read about it in an earlier post. Pleased to have my work included in this project.
